My nine year old son wrote, then ‘rapped' this PEACE at his school assembly.
Yo Dude
All we need in this life is peace.
There is so much war and nobody obeys the law,
So people just keep killing each other!
And so... we are in a world of war
and many people are poor because of war!
It is not nice, because it's just fight, fight, fight!
Now I'm going to set this right, everybody
needs to Be the *Shining Light*
So then peace will come back and there'll be no fights
Peace is all we need ~ that's right!

So lissen ya ‘all what I'm saying here, I speak for all
kids and were not growing up in your fear!
No more war in our world...

everytime I have the thought, “it would just be cruel to have children in this day in age” I seem to see something as truly wonderful as what your son wrote.
I'm sure it came from *somewhere* though, his inspiration

Have you heard of the miracle of the Chinese bamboo tree? After the seed for this amazing tree is planted, you don't see nothing, absolutely nothing, for four years except for a tiny shoot coming out of a bulb. During those four years, all the growth is underground in a massive, fibrous root structure that spreads deep and wide in the earth. But then in the fifth year the Chinese bamboo tree grows up to eight feet!
Many things in my family life are like the Chinese bamboo tree. I work and invest time and effort, and I do everything I can possibly do to nurture growth, and sometimes I don't see anything for weeks, months, or even years. But I know that if I'm patient and keep working and nurturing, that “fifth year” will come :)
With LOVE there is hope, tremendous hope!
